I never knew him but he'll be missed by many. A sad loss.

Chin up Chipster. Chin up...

Was Larry the pink thong? I remember his smile. The way he bulged slightly when happy. And he seemed so playful when you held him in your teeth and catapulted him across the room. If Larry was you pink thong, then this is a sad day for thongdom.

Thank you Tracy (and anonymous). Yes, Larry was pink. In the pink of health too.

Oh, now I'm getting emotional... I'm going to cry again...

Long time reader, first time commenter. I'm really sad to hear of your loss. Just think that Larry is in a better place. Well, not as good a place as your pants but I'm sure it's still a good place.

Poor old Larry. I know how you feel, Chip. There's a story about the Best Bra in the World, which I went to great lengths to save, even performing risky wire transplants - but in the end nothing could save it.

Larry will always be special in your memory. You must get on with your life, and the terrible job of finding something that fits.

Hooch: please comment more. I need to feel that love. If only Larry had known he was so loved.

Ms. Baroque: thank you for your kind words. I just think that Larry and 'The Best Bra in the World' are sharing a tumble in the great washing machine in the sky, laughing over a thimble of fabric softener... Oh, I'm going to cry again. The emotion is just too much. I think I'll have to move on...

chip, did you not consider what the skills of the modern taxidermist could have done for Larry? he could have been with you always, on your mantelpiece in some suitable naturalistic 'action' pose. It must be worth a quick ring round the Bangor yellow pages thong-stuffing listings, just to get a quote at least..

Thongs for the memories, Larry, sniff, sniff...(that's tears for the more gutter-brained readers ...
